Seattle is a well-known coastal city in America’s Pacific Northwest region. It offers both residents and visitors a variety of opportunities to enjoy the local culture, cuisine, and scenery. Some of Seattle’s well-known spots include the Space Needle, the Pike Place Market, and Pioneer Square. Meanwhile, the city’s outdoor areas, including the Puget Sound, Cascade Mountains, and other national forests and adventure-filled islands, give Seattle its nickname—the Emerald City.

For those who are interested in setting up an office in Seattle, we have created a list of the best office builders in the area. These firms have completed numerous projects throughout Washington, each one meeting the needs and expectations of its owners.

JTM Construction

800 Maynard Ave. South, #101, Seattle, WA 98134

John Hayduk, Tom Titus, and Martin O’Leary founded JTM Construction in 2005 to ensure consistent and outstanding project delivery. With over 100 years of combined experience, they lead the firm in fostering long-term partnerships to ensure that clients can trust the firm with their projects. This dedication comes from the belief that more things can be accomplished as a group than as individuals.

One of JTM Construction’s notable projects is this featured one, in which the firm provided structural upgrades for Dexter Station to meet the client’s request for an innovative office that would house a high-tech and cooperative workforce. The 346,000-square-foot structure that JTM Construction built features areas for both individual and group work. Various areas have flexible floor plates that give tenants the ability to adapt a space to their individual needs, while other areas take advantage of the wide spaces and high ceilings to promote collaborative and creative thinking. JTM Construction also installed outdoor decks, an athletic facility, conference spaces, locker rooms, and showers. Dexter Station received a GOLD Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certificate for its ability to provide more power, backup power, and mechanical flexibility than other speculative buildings in the Seattle area.

Shuchart

919 5th Ave. Seattle, WA 98164

As a full-service general contractor, Shuchart uses a stewardship approach and a refined process that ensures the satisfaction of its commercial clients, most of whom are in the Puget Sound Region. With trust as its foundation, Shuchart works closely with clients to create informed design solutions that adhere to every client’s creative vision. The firm is made up of three operating divisions—Ground-up, Industrial, and Tenant Improvement—that work together to uphold the firm’s 30 years of excellence and dedication.

Highlighted here is one impressive project completed by Shuchart. Described as the greenest office building in the world, the Bullitt Center is the first urban building that can meet all of its energy, water, and waste needs. Shuchart designed this structure to last for 250 years, working with various architects, engineers, and contractors to create a sustainable building using an integrated design process that created a new model for constructing, designing, and engineering high-performance buildings. Shuchart’s efforts allowed the structure to meet goals for LEED Platinum certification, the 2030 Challenge, and the Living Building Challenge. Some of the building’s specific sustainability features include 100% on-site renewable energy, ground source and radiant heating, on-site water and waste management, and naturally day-lit and ventilated workspaces.

Bayley Construction

8005 S.E. 28th St. Mercer Island, WA 98040

Bayley Construction serves a wide range of clients in the Washington, Arizona, and California areas. As one of America’s leading full-service general contractors, the firm brings a high level of skill to education, retail, entertainment, office, sports, and government projects. A majority of Bayley Construction’s employees have been part of the firm for more than 20 years, establishing themselves as some of the most respected construction experts in the country. This team of professionals tackles projects with a dedication for consistently overcoming complex challenges and meeting industry standards.

The Virginia Mason Athletic Center functions as the corporate headquarters and practice facility for the Seattle Seahawks. When working on this project, Bayley Construction created three outdoor natural grass practice fields, a maintenance building, and about 200,000 square feet of office space. The three-story office building features a full-size indoor turf practice field, art fitness facilities, training equipment, and amenities for the players. The Virginia Mason Athletic Center also has the capacity to accommodate Seattle Seahawks’ office departments, administrators, and faculty, as well as the corporate sponsorships and Fan Development offices.

Skyline Construction

1221 Fourth Ave. Seattle, WA 98101

Skyline Construction, previously known as Unimark Construction, has been serving clients in the Puget Sound Region since 1953. It typically provides tenant improvement and general contractor services for commercial projects in the technology, finance, hospitality, and healthcare sectors. It also specializes in producing stunning and functional work areas by using designs that encourage creativity and wellness. Skyline Construction approaches each project with the mindset that people are more important than projects; therefore, it works to build trust-based and client-centric relationships.

Burgess Design contracted Skyline Construction to give its Seattle office a new, charming look. The firm began the project by demolishing all existing finishes and mechanical, engineering, and plumbing systems, allowing the firm to begin installing specialty lighting, new interior restrooms, and structural steel support. Considering the amount of work that was taking place at the same time, Skyline Construction made sure to provide the early release for long lead items, such as the millwork package. This proactive approach allowed the firm to efficiently complete its work. Skyline Construction also made sure to establish clear communication avenues with the client to minimize misunderstandings and keep everyone in the project completely informed.

Lease Crutcher Lewis

2200 Western Ave. #500, Seattle, WA 98121

Founded in 1886, Lease Crutcher Lewis has spent the last nearly 140 years building structures that leave a positive impact on both clients and the community. Lease Crutcher Lewis’ investment in projects ensures that even the smallest of details receive the same amount of attention as the larger ones, resulting in impressive products that are driven by integrity and safety.

Touchstone Corporation & USAA worked in collaboration with Lease Crutcher Lewis to complete Troy Block, a LEED Gold office complex project. The structure has two 12 and 13-story office buildings, which Lease Crutcher Lewis completed within two phases. With the help of architect Perkins+Will, the firm was able to incorporate two historic buildings on opposite corners of the site.
